I'm really interested in mapping, but after looking at countless tutorials, I find them pretty useless, which in turn becomes really discouraging. I was wondering if there is just this one extremely useful site that has EVERYTHING from the basic to advance. Everything needed to map PE well, like that map posted on the main site....oh it looks extremely well done! Anyways, no one is really around to help me with level designing so I don't really know where to start... Sure there are a few tutorials out there covering first room building, but what about proportions (pain!)? Even though I don't know much about mapping, if the proportions are messed, everything is pretty much messed. So please mighty mappers! Point me in the right direction of mapping!

Greetings!

How should i help you in realistical terms? Please donŽt missunderstand me. The problem is, that everything depends on your creativity. There isnŽt a special or general technique or something like that. wink.gif When i did my first experience with mapping no one was around to help me, too. I had to learn everything by myself. But it works. Begin with smaller goals! In germany we say "Es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen". It means, that nearly nobody created big hits directly from the beginning. YouŽll see that youŽll increase your abilities. wink.gif biggrin.gif

I hope that this text helps you a littlebit...
Good luck!

ThereŽs a german site:
http://www.thewall.de/

Ok, this wonŽt help you much, but perhaps thereŽre some links to good english sites which deal with mapping.
