[U]Sorry, but you can't use half-life source. You need half-life 1 to play brainbread.

hello and welcome biggrin.gif
just to let you know, you posted this on the wrong spot.
It belongs to the support forums biggrin.gif
But its ok, its your first time biggrin.gif

Here are some ways to get hl:

1.)ask any of your friends that has hl, and borrow it and activate the product with the HL key code on steam.

2.) If the code is already taken, get the http://games.softpedia.com/progDownload/HalfLife-CD-Key-Changer-Download-53.html and change your cd key.
(you can find other links if you want)

Hope that helps...

Do you have Steam? You NEED that in order to play anything that has to do with Half Life now a days.

If you do, go to the Browse Games section when you sign in. A link in the bottom left corner should say "Activate Product on Steam". Click on it, then put the CD key of your copy of Half Life 1. This should register your game. After Steam automatically updates and downloads all files for HL1, you should then be able to play HL1 and all it's mods.
