This is a different version of Moonlight Sonata, sounds very cool. What does everyone else think.

p.s. its autostreamed at the http://www.brainbreadsource.com

Not bad. I'm liking it. biggrin.gif

Posted by: iliketoblowzombieheadsoff October 10, 2007 10:38 pm
It's very, VERY nice. Just like the old brainbread!!

BB:S is doing so well. biggrin.gif

I don't notice the difference in the two songs. Although this one sounds a bit louder, clearer, and possibly better quality. What makes it a good choice for Brainbread is that it's mellow and gives out a horrific feeling. Betoven's a master-piece creator so it's no wonder why the music is well made. But yeah, for a horror game the music is good.

Perhaps consider finding other 'scary' music, for maybe specific maps to be played in-game. Although, the only downfall is for those who listen to music in the background while playing. It'd be annoying to hear two songs playing at once... then again, you can turn off the music volume for source so it's no problem at all really.

very nice indeed smile.gif

Craka, if you listen a bit closer it's a bit different...

Some background sounds are altered, making it way more scarier.

Posted by: mrmicky October 10, 2007 11:49 pm
yer i also noticed maybe a hint of drums in there listen closely and see.

When I clicked on that link, at first I didn't know it was a link to the brainbread:source website, and I happened to have my headphones really loud...

I think my ears are ringing.

Posted by: Craka_J October 11, 2007 02:05 am
Ah, very true. Good ears you have! laugh.gif
Much better than the original I think. Well the fact that it's source, the modification of the song is completely necessary.

Indeed, and the modification fits the game greatly..
I happen to have the sound out loud so I heard it, plus it's so crystal clear.
The real moonlight sonata is a bit softer yet it still sounds a bit... horrific.

This one is great, I will listen to it even more.

I actually preferred the original... though this is a nice change.
With extra emphasis on the low piano notes, it could be my new favourite wink.gif
I think it sounds a bit tinny in places - particularly near the start before the wind instruments and strings.

Good music overall, though smile.gif

its deffinatley as i would put an upgrade but you can never best an original piece.

Posted by: Craka_J October 11, 2007 04:53 pm
That, I will have to agree on. happy.gif

thanks for the comments so far guys, you have to know this version was intended internal only, I produced it in an evening just to get the BBS devs a little more excited,... I had no idea it had been posted on the main site! whoops!

So in short, got lots more work to do to it.. if you guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears, so to speak.

Posted by: mrmicky October 31, 2007 01:47 am
well i wouldnt mind a copy of the new version if you can host it somewhere.

Posted by: stringed_evil October 31, 2007 02:12 am
It'll be available for download when it's finished. Don't want unbaked cake fed to the masses with my name all over it wink.gif. Going to do a fair few things to it, add some creepy sounds, alter the piano, add some more instruments.

Btw if people prefer the original np. i'll setup the main theme so it will be easy to add your own mp3's and randomize every time you start the mod up.

Posted by: mrmicky October 31, 2007 12:52 pm
yh it sounds great atm, i wouldnt mind you hosting the version of it now for download. Hope the newer version sounds good.

I like the whole creepy feel it gives to the whole enviroment.

I mean after like 589247058924735890 years of not playing and coming back it just puts me back in the mood to get those levels back.

[Its good to be back now]

The good mixture of piano and all the other intruments is nice.

Shine.

yeah,

classical music is like scary on horror games -O.o-

Posted by: iliketoblowzombieheadsoff November 09, 2007 01:04 am
I freakin' love classical music for horror games... infact, I always liked classical music being in games. biggrin.gif

That's how I got to it, from video games. biggrin.gif

Especially moonlight sonata.. I found it in a game by From Software... it has something to do with the moon and ghosts, and puzzle-solving.

another example of this would be Adagio 4 Strings in homeworld

i like the bb moonlight sonata but for bbs its different i dont really like it but its still freaky

Posted by: SDWBOSS December 25, 2007 07:37 pm
Half Life 2 had great creepy music - some electric guitar rifts would be awsome, not like heavy metal guitar, think more like an acoustic - very scary indeed ohmy.gif

Posted by: hunter December 25, 2007 08:08 pm
I think an atmospheric score would do ten times better than music, im thinking resident evil 2 outside, all quiet except eary winds and the occasional moan from a walking cadaver.

Posted by: BrainBread:SourceBot December 31, 2007 06:00 am
Yeah, the music really sets the mood. Good job. Also been a while since I've played the original BB. Now I can't wait for this!!!
