I use to play a RE game in Sven Coops.. there was a chainsaw.. and you beat zombies with it.. yeah. .thats right.. you beat them with it..My guy didn't know how to pull the cord to start it

You beat them with it because the chainsaw was just a model replacement for the damn pipe wrench. I was like "omg gay!" when I realized the chainsaw was just a cheap excuse for an actual weapon.

@hunter: I think that Sniper (and the rest of the actual BBS-Team) didn't get this information. So both of us are right in a special way. The chainsaw was planned for the original Brainbread... but it never made it into the game. For the BBS team it seemed like that we, the original BB team, didn't want to include a chainsaw... which is wrong. There will (should) be a chainsaw for Brainbread: Source, but it will use fuel, you'll need a higher skill for that weapon and it won't be in the first release. Thank you.

Errrr can we have a reason for not having the chainsaw it cant be too hard to model, im not be horrible or anything but is it? coz if someone reli tried they cud model one with actuall sound and movement then the bbs team make its damage like very high.

But seriously, Evil Dead Trilogy notwithstanding, a chainsaw would be a horrible weapon, for the following reasons: 1) We are not all Bruce Campbell. We cannot lug a chainsaw around (along with ammo for our 3 guns, and a gas tank) slicing zombies with any degree of agility or speed. At least not for long. 2) Runs out of fuel. 3) Overkill for slow zombies. There's a store in a mall kinda near my house called House of Knives. I think a Katana or some kind of medieval sword (provided it was sharp and not too heavy) would be far more effective against slow "shuffler" zombies.

i like the idea of the katana because its easier to model and you can swing it faster but teh coders can just have it for medium damage (because its so damn sharp).

how can you have a zombie game without a chainsaw... thats just not right. its like a fork without a knife, or a car without gas it doesnt matter if its a horrible weapon or if its used to much its a chainsaw. people will use it... and also 1)we cant all aim and shoot a high powered assault rifle either 2)the gas can be like ammo 3)overkill is the point!
