hello,

First of all im very sorry if i posted at the wrong place... im new with internet and forums.

I have Half life and bought it a long time ago.

A friend of mine told me about Brainbread and gave me the brainbread-v1.2 execute programme.
He told me that i can play solo that game.

But once the installation is done... i doesnt work

When i creat a game, it begins to start up then it stops...

My friend gave me i think its a cracked version of HL (telling me it might work better) and it still doesnt work...
So ive deleted the cracked/or not version.

After some time i have found the console... and it is written :

LAN servers are restricted to local clients (class C)

With my poor 56k connection ive DL from here the latest Brainbread full version. And ive been able to run the game only once! And now its still the same problem as before., try to creat a game... and it just doesnt launch.

What can I do ?

Half life works without any probleme...
I usualy dont have internet on my computer... 56k costs alot of money

So the LAN error pops up when you are trying to create a game? Or join one? Because that error should only come up if you're trying to join a LAN game and you don't have a LAN connection.

When you're trying to create an offline game, and it doesn't work, are there any other errors that come up?

well the error message doesnt "pop" it appears on the consol,

Then it appears when i want to creat a game.

It also had the same problem when ive tried to join a LAN game at my friends appartement. I think when he gave me a hacked version (or not) we could play old mods and they didnt have the same problem, but Brainbread still didnt work for me.

Its the only probleme that i see while creating a game.

I just read on another post that i need it seems steam to make the mod work ?
What exactly is steam ?

why should i need steam if i allready have Halflife1 ! ?

When He opened the fourth seal I heard the voice of the fourth living being say, "Come!" Then I looked and saw an ash-colored horse. The name of its rider was Death, and Hades followed him closely. Authority was granted them over a quarter of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with plaque, and by means of the wild beasts of the earth.
