I hear every1 saying "add the m82" then others say "no millitary only"! Well the fact of the matter is u can actually buy them at gun stores, incindiary and anti armor rounds are millitary only though, but since u could shoot through like 10 zombies with a regular .50 cal round it would be kinda pointless for them to be icluded unless u have an alternate ammo system ala S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Well there it is, flame if u think otherwise but thats the truth. -------------------- In the words of GLaDOS: We do what we must because we can.

You are right, although that particular gun would not be readily available, (not as much as the m16 or shotgun at least) so you wouldn't get to use it that often... Maybe you should get it when you reach a certain skill level?

Ya, this thing should be renamed the "Maim-omatic, it can tear a human in half at about 1.5 miles (or something) then couple it with the raufoss he round, and u can take out armored vehicles.

Another STALKER player. Yay . But, I for the no M82 except for military NPCs or military players(if they are included), because, yes they can be bought at a high price at your local firearms store, but as far as i understood, BB:S is set a few months after the zombie invasion started, so they're probably all gone by now. Or, atleast, if they are included, make them very, very rare. It would be annoying to get blown in half everytime you breath as a zombie. OH SHITE! Lol! i overwrit the OP with my post and had my uneditied one below it. This is a respone to the OP This post has been edited by Lucan on March 07, 2008 09:29 pm |

With only light weapons, it increases the fear anyway! Not "Yay, I'm invincible with my M82 gun!" Perhaps in the levels that could feature it, there should only be a couple of rounds or so for it, (no extra ammo) so you'd have to try and get several zombies lined up

How about only 1 extra clip (it has a 10 round mag), and u can only carry a pistol if u have it, and u walk slightly slower. Like someone with this would team up with the guy with, say, a p90 for defence while he takes his shot, and a player needs like lever 50 or watever to wield this, its a high level "mega weapon" that requires high levels and u can only have a sidearm/melee while carrying it.
Another thing, the standard barret .50cal is commercially available for hunting or collecting (but what the heck do u hunt with this thing?). A good player zombie will hide while standard zombies draw the snipers attention. Although another player would gun them down with a fully automatic weapon or shotgun. On the note of heavy rifles, another high level weapon would be the F2000 with M203 mortar launcher and maby if sights are implimented somehow, a scope, again like stalker, but insted of switching firemode u have m1-shoot, m2-mortar, m3-sight/scope. elk at 1600 meters coyote at 2700 meters for real i'd don't see what's so great about that- by the time you get there to claim your animal, it'll be rotting and stuff-- it take a while to walk that far. plus that you got a 1.5 meter gun that weighs like 8 kg. hunting is about shooting stuff up close and the sport of stalking it without being detected. there is no stalking when you shoot an animal from 1600 meters. no camo needed, in fact, you can park on the top of some hill, step up your rifle in the truck bed, take the shot and spend 15 minutes driving to pick up your animal. what kind of hunting is that? rather that, how about make the gun realistic- carrying around a 1.5 meter gun isn't easy- decrease player moving speed and prevent the player from couching if the gun is in their inventory. the m82 is like a 1.5 meters long, about a man's height in length. its also real heavy. and a huge muzzle blast that attracts tons of zombies your way, plus strong recoil between shots (so you can't just camp someplace and pick things off one by one easily). it needs serious disadvantages to make it a balanced weapon. |
