My Girlfriend left me after 2 years of being together, in a bad spot right now. So taking a break from things; going Gym alot and trying work on my Medical studies.

Yeah, it's never easy - unless the other person turns out to be pure evil, that's one of the only times it's easy. Anyways, keep at it, holmes - stick to the plan! Keeping yourself busy is a good one, along with rallying your amigos around you - doesn't even have to be a mob of 'em, maybe one or two to help distract you. It makes it a little easier, but I cannot guarantee magical results overnight. It really is. Anyone that says, "Just get over it" has obviously never been in such a situation. There isn't a switch you can press to be over it. It may take months/years to get over someone fully, but that doesn't mean you can't move on before then. It took me 4-6 months to start thinking of dating other women. And actually start again. I'm not 100% over her, and I still get really depressed when certain songs are played, or something happens that reminds me of her. Well, something happens that we did or something like that, and I'll get sad. Every day up to a certain day feels like it gets worse, but you eventually hit a peak and it starts to get easier every day. I'm far from over my ex still, but yet I'm finally able to think about other women and want to date them. Even if I still miss my ex some. It will eventually get better, just hold on. She had a friend that spent time with her alot when we were going out, now we're not together I know shes practically going out with him. It sucks big time, I really hate thinking about it and i'm just generally pissed off about it.

Mate it hurts now but you'll get over it. Every girl I have EVER dated has cheated on me, so trust me when I say this: don't sweat it, there is always more women out there and always someone better. Worry more about getting your life on track right now, relationships will come later.
