My problem: Brain Bread works when i start it up on steam. I try to create a game (so my roommate and I) can play offline LAN together, but when i try to start up a map the server starts to load, then when everything is finished I end up back in the main menu. No damage, no fatal errors, no blue screens, just back into main menu.

This has been frustrating because the Forums didn't have any posts about my problem so i wasn't able to fix it.

Things i've done:
- sv_lan 1 before attempt to start up game
- installed into half life folder (not source, not 2)
- installed BB 1.2
- updated steam enough to the point where i am able to play half-life 1 on single player


Set backs:
- my internet is behind a school firewall, so i can't update my steam any more than what i have right now.
- this is my first attempt to start up a game with multiplayers. At first i played by myself but i realised it would be more fun with friends.


Hopefully people will be able to give suggestions on how to fix this....non-fatal bug and allow me to play on LAN. Thanks guys!

Check the console for any error messages.
