i want bb source to look great. From the maps, weapons, Hands ( don't make them gloves , please no gloves!) and player and npc models. Take as long as you need. Don't half ass it and release some bullshit. Im sure you can release something really great if you take your time with it

We're doing really really good, and by far with progress and gameplay feel, so far so good. Internal Beta will not carry every feature the original had, as we will go through different internal beta phases. Now possibly a month to two from now, we will have official release. I think most people agree with me, we are not going to release shit BUT we are not going to enter a 2 year dev cycle like some other mods *cough* We are going to take the iterative approach where we start off with a "smaller" feature set and keep adding content over time.
I think some people and even mod teams themselves forget this, we are not Valve. We are not "professionals(well I am )" we are not 50 people working in a single building making something full time. We are 10 guys who have other stuff that needs attending to that are spread across the world. You cannot expect a full retail quality game to be produced by us unless you wan't it done in 4+ years. The best mods started off small and worked to get bigger like we will, CS started off with like 1 game mode and a couple of maps, so did DOD. Even Garry's mod started with only the ragdoll posing mode. It also works out better for you guys, you don't have to wait around a couple of years to play the game like some mods *cough* and then find out that you don't like it, which is a massive waste of your time and the mod makers. It also allows us to take some risks with the game and get the communitys feedback, and if you think something we add is shit, we will either change it or take it out within a couple of versions, or on the other foot we can be more nimble with feature requests. For example I was in the SMC server and one of the admins said he would like to set the zombie speed from the console and so inbetween the round I made it so you could, that's just a small example. We are coming up on the 2 month mark of development and we have made amazing progress, as witnessed by the internal beta racing towards completion. This is basically a feature complete version that needs to be tested greatly. In conclusion, don't expect crap from us. But don't expect a game with 100 maps and 400 player models. Heck even Valve have put out games in this approach, like HL2DM that only had 2 maps on release. -------------------- Left the BB:S Team.
