Well, I built a new computer about a month ago.
It's pretty fantastic. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Intel i5-2500k Quad-Core 3.3 GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) ASUS GeForce GTX 550 Ti 16GB RAM 2 monitors Runs every game on highest settings possible with DirectX11 flawlessly. -------------------- |

Basically the only reason to go with an i7 over an i5 is hyperthreading, which isn't really necessary unless you're multi-tasking like crazy. The i5 is significantly cheaper, while providing far more performance than I even need. So no, I shouldn't have gone with the i7. -------------------- |

So, I'm still at the university, taking courses, not reading/studying enough until the last weeks (which is now, conveniently enough) of the semester, playing games, working, drinking...
I am in no way complaining. Life is good. But right now, in the final crunch period, I wish past me would have studied better, so that present me and future me wouldn't have to do so much work. Past me is an asshole. @Jonnyboy: Good to se some working being done on the Source mod! @David: The new rig sounds amazing. Hope you put it to good use This post has been edited by Elite viking on November 25, 2012 04:19 pm |

Well.
Since August of 2011, I've lost my favorite dog, 4 family members, had ALOT of bad times otherwise with friends, etc., and now today my mother and I just lost our jobs (we worked at the same place.) I'm beyond tired of this. My family really needs some good in our life now. Wow. -------------------- |

Not all doom and gloom in my life mates.
Got myself a new firearm (smith and wesson sd40ve) a newish truck (1996 GMC suburban), a place to live, and a kick ass job. Life's on the upswing mates. Sorry to hear that David. I lost both my biological grandfathers and my adoptive grandfather this year. --------------------
