I can't make servers, and the only server it lasted after death on was the MMZ Zombie server. I have problems with my router that deny the simplest things. It's pissed me off many a time by not letting me create server and games (warcraft 3) that people are allowed to join.
I've found a way to bypass this but my dad doesn't like it because it allows the ip past the router's main firewall. |

Actually you haven't. You've been telling them to edit it through the server.cfg file. I've been telling them, that doesnt work, you have to use the GUI. Your method didn't work, so they keep coming back asking why it doesnt work, and I have to continually explain it to them, why that way will never work. -------------------- |

Alright well i host a listen server about everyday, one thing that is REALLY Driving me nuts though is the timelimit!!! i tried editing mp_timelimt and a couple other things but they alll didn't work. 16 Mins or 17 Mins is NOT enough time to beat some maps (i wanna try to beat all the objectives and such) sooo my one question, how do i edit the timelimit because everytime i try the map changes when the timer (on the top part of the screen) reaches 0, even when i edit mp_timelimit and i tried editing the round time limit too but still nothin. HELP!?

Make sure you change both values (mp_timelimit, sv_roundtimelimit) in your server.cfg file and save it.

What framerates are you all getting? I get a nice 60 in a "normal" amount of activity, but when it gets to 20 zombies, my FPS goes down to 4-6 frames. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 512 MB DDR RAM, Windows XP, and an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro.
Great mod by the way, keep up the good work. -------------------- It is a good day to die.

You can run a local listen server through your client version. Just run the game and select create game.

Your client (and thus listen server) should have all the maps required to play. If it doesn't re-install.
edit: wiseman, you can run in offline mode. Make sure you set your server as sv_lan 1, then browse for it in the "lan" tab of the server browser. You should not get a steam error if your server is running on lan mode. This post has been edited by |2enegade on March 24, 2005 05:13 am -------------------- |

client allows you to play and run a listen server.
server allows you to run a dedicated server. Usually most people will only require the client, but if you are serious about setting up a BB server for others to play on, then you will require the server patch. -------------------- |

ok i'll download the server patch because every time i host a game on lan i do sv_lan 1
and it works fine on both computers but sometimes my level goes up to 122 every few seconds in the game and sometimes the game turns off and says BAD_EDICTS or something like that. |

unless you run the server on a dedicated machine, you'll probably still get that error (no_edicts = memory overrun)
