Hey guys, im not trying to spam or anything, i swear, but i was thinking, and i just had a great new idea. It would really help make the game original, and it seems that, that's one goal the BB:S developers are strongly shooting for. It would be a new weapon system.
A Gun Shop. Now let me explain, it's not as simple as it sounds. The Gun Shop, is basically a big menu of weapons one can access before he enters a server. The Gun Shop will instill a sense of ranking among players, due to the fact certain guns cost a certain amount of credits as well as skill to use. Thus, players with higher ranks will have access to better guns and equipment. (Players will not be able to pick-up dead players weapons, however players can trade weapons/items if they choose to) Here's how it works: (At least somewhat close to this) Every new player automatically starts out with 100 credits. 10 zombie kills = 5 Credits 50 Credits = 1 New Skill Lvl (100 zombie kills = 1 New Skill Lvl) Ammo: x3 magazines/clips Credits: 5 x21 shells Credits: 5 Pistols: (.45, and .50 pistols, as well as the Glock 18c, can not be used as duals.) Makarov (9x18) Credits: 90 | Skill Lvl. 0 8 rounds, low damage, 3 extra magazines Glock 19 (9mm) Credits: 95 | Skill Lvl. 0 8 rounds, low damage, 3 extra magazines Sig Sauer P225 (9mm) Credits: 95 | Skill Lvl. 0 8 rounds, low damage, 3 extra magazines Beretta M92FS (9mm) Credits: 100 | Skill Lvl. 0 15 rounds, low damage, 3 extra magazines H&K USP (9mm) Credits: 100 | Skill Lvl. 0 15 rounds, low damage, 3 extra magazines Sig Sauer P228 (.40) Credits: 105 | Skill Lvl. 1 12 rounds, medium damage, 3 extra magazines Colt 1911 (.45) Credits: 110 | Skill Lvl. 1 8 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra magazines Glock 21 (.45) Credits: 115 | Skill Lvl. 1 10 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra magazines H&K USP Tactical (.45) Credits: 120 | Skill Lvl. 1 12 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra magazines Desert Eagle (.50) Credits: 125 | Skill Lvl. 2 7 rounds, high damage, 4 extra magazines Glock 18c (9mm auto) Credits: 125 | Skill Lvl. 2 31 rounds, high damage, 2 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates Submachine Guns: Steyr TMP (9mm) Credits: 160 | Skill Lvl. 3 15 rounds, medium damage, 3 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates Mac-10 (9mm) Credits: 165 | Skill Lvl. 3 30 rounds, medium damage, 3 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates FN P90 (5.7x28mm) Credits: 170 | Skill Lvl. 4 50 rounds, medium damage, 2 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates H&K MP5A4 (.40) Credits: 175 | Skill Lvl. 4 30 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates H&K UMP (.45) Credits: 180 | Skill Lvl. 5 30 rounds, medium-high damage, 2 extra magazines, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates Shotguns: Mossberg 500 (20 gauge) Credits: 200 | Skill Lvl. 6 7 rounds, medium-high damage, 21 extra shells, pump-action Benelli M3 (12 gauge) Credits: 215 | Skill Lvl. 7 8 rounds, high damage, 16 extra shells, pump action Spas12 (12 gauge) Credits: 215 | Skill Lvl. 7 8 rounds, high damage, 16 extra shells, pump action M1014 (12 gauge) - Credits: 220 | Skill Lvl. 8 7 rounds, high damage, 21 extra shells, semi-automatic Assault Rifles: FAMAS (5.56mm NATO) Credits: 250 | Skill Lvl. 9 25 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates M4A1 (5.56mm NATO) Credits: 255 | Skill Lvl. 9 30 rounds, medium-high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates IMI Galil (5.56x45mm NATO) Credits: 260 | Skill Lvl. 10 50 rounds, medium-high damage, 2 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates SIG552 (5.56x45mm) Credits: 270 | Skill Lvl. 10 20 rounds, high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates M16A1 (5.56x45mm) Credits: 285 | Skill Lvl. 11 30 rounds, high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates H&K G36c (5.56x45mm) Credits: 285 | Skill Lvl. 11 30 rounds, high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates AK47 (7.62x39mm) Credits: 295 | Skill Lvl. 12 30 rounds, high damage, 3 extra clips, semi-automatic & automatic fire-rates Equipment: Bulletproof Vest Credits: 150 | Skill Lvl. 1 Adds 100% Armor This post has been edited by CrazyforRE on August 04, 2006 02:42 pm -------------------- Me:

Well i mean, its not like you'd try and and unlock all the weapons on one server, that'd take a long time (be a long day). But something you could work on accomplishing over a period of time. The credits and your skill lvl. wouldn't go away everytime you logged off. It'd save, so next time you'd log on, you'd be right back to where you left off.
(And just a little note to everyone, im working on adding more weapons to the list, such as Machine-Guns, and a Flamethrower. It was late at night when i typed up the list and i just forgot to add some others.) This post has been edited by CrazyforRE on August 04, 2006 02:41 pm -------------------- Me:

You're ****** if the server crashes, this option sounds great, but it would reduce the amount of players playing it because people won't be able to just drop in and play the odd game, they would have to work to get a semi decent gun.
-------------------- This is what Ive said for the past couple months every time has requested source: BB source is highly unlikely because the mod team (Ironoak) has decided to use the crystal engine to create an rpg, although they have said there is a small chance of going to source but please, for the sake of all mankind, do not request a port and/or create polls, or even useless threads about the porting of BB, because it is most likely not going to happen, thank you for reading.

I think the game could do with a combo. A good ammount of weapons and ammo packs scattered on the map, but not every gun type. In the menu you could buy the rest. But maybe make guns real expensive to prevent one-man armies.

A combo actually sounds like a good idea too, or it could always end up being turned into a mod, or sumthin. Kind of like how they have deathmatch modes in Counter-strike. I dunno, but it think'd it'd be really cool. Kind of give the game an RPG feeling. Gotta play the game a lot and kill a lot of zombies so you can upgrade with better weapons and show off your zombie-pwning rank.
I really think it should be taken into consideration, it'd give you something to work for, and look forward to. Or at least have a weapons system that follows a similar path. I think you'd have a lot more people playing the game more often cause they'd all want the good zombie pwnin guns. At least i would. this would be good if you had a big server that saves data would be up 24/7 and automaticly backs up data so that when it crashes all is not lost
without all this it would suck hairy monkey balls --------------------

I just remembered a starcraft map, which was based on resident evil, and thought of something cool.
There colud be a gunshop, but only with pistols or things like this at the start of the map. Then players could get secondary objectives on the map to unlock the other guns (Ie : Bring back an ak-47 crate from somewhere, get some survivors,...) -------------------- |

I think the gunshop, although a clever idea, is too much for a game like BB:S. That's just my opinion. But! If you guys should use that, make it like the CSS buy menu. Just make it so when you go up to this NPC and press E on he/she, the buy menu will pop up. If you guys played Rattlesoft's Gmod Roleplay plugin you'll know what I mean. |

I like the combo idea, but you should also be able to buy the weapons scattered.
Just if you don't feel like running to that spot. "Kind of give the game an RPG feeling" I wouldn't like it as much if it was going to be considered a RPG -------------------- -Endlessly?-

Now THAT is some list of weapons. But wouldn't there be problems fitting them all into the game?

Having a buy menu, would be like just playing Counter-Strike with a Zombie Mod.. sorry after thinking about it.. I despise the idea of a buy menu.
