My father and I both got Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the computer recently. It took me almost a week to get past a constant freeze in the splash screen.
Now I run it perfectly fine. My dad's computer, for whatever reason, can not run it. He can load it up to the main menu, but when it comes to doing anything inside of the application it freezes for about 5 seconds before completing the action. This is found most often when trying to bind keys. He or I will click on the action spot, and it will freeze, then ask to bind the key, then you press the key you want to bind, and it freezes again for another 5 seconds or so, then continues. In pretty much any action it will do that. He's running a Dell XPS 410 CPU: *Will put this later. I can't remember and am in no position to check* Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce 9500 GT (1GB) Sound Card: X-Fi Soundblaster EXtreme Gamer PSU: Not sure on the exact name but I know its 400W OS: Windows 7 64-bit <<<<<We think this is the problem. I am running the game on Vista 32-bit perfectly fine. If any other specs are need I will check them tomorrow probably. And I will also fill in the other specs that I couldn't tomorrow. -------------------- |

The OS is not the problem. I run it on 7 64 bit. I would have to say either an inadequate PSU, bad/not enough ram, too slow a processor/bad processor, or a failing mobo/gpx card.

I would think it's a RAM, CPU or GPU issue here.
One of them is Lacking / Slacking... It's a demanding game right? Check recomended system requirments online. It should not be Windows 7, as I have it and manage to play every game i'v tried without any compatibiltiy issues. (including BF2). -------------------- Lightsaver the energy efficient Lightsabre |

lol my dad was gaming before I was.
He bought the original Half-Life, Team Fortress Classic, and Counter-Strike before Steam even existed. Back when they were running on WON. lol As a matter of fact we were just playing some Spec Ops on MW2 last night lol. One copy for each computer of course. -------------------- |
