I do not know if this is possible, but here it goes.. While playing I was watching the marines fight the zombies. I noticed how they're often pretty much shooting like lunatics with their rifles/shotguns not only that, but they also tend to stay in one place. So, what I am suggesting is this:
Why not make it where the Marines actually aim for the upper part of the zombies bodies and not their waist/legs etc.? I know it's kinda ridiculous, but I'd just like it better if the marines were actually trained and not semi-morons. Then there's the staying in one area issue, they occasionally walk to a different area, but not far from their spawn point. So, my next suggestion would be to make it where they can follow you like in Half-Life Opposing Force, increase your chance for survival and so forth. That's about it. -------------------- |

The half-life engine is sooo simplistic, you need to think about what you post, for the entity to actually change it's aims to find the right spot, how will it know what's the right spot? all it can do is aim for the entity.
Also, i think the marines are meant to stay where they are, to defend the point they are at. I'm going to leave this open so you can try and suggest some more things for marine. -------------------- |

Alrighty, new suggestion. Often I've seen the marines do the action to throw a grenade, yet nothing happens. Prehaps it could be made where if enough zombies crowd around them they toss a grenade into the crowd.

There's a better suggestion, good point, i've also often noticed that, but Brainbread did have grenades, but were taken out over lag issues?

I can understand that which is why I say only allow them to toss grenades when they're surrounded. My point of view is if you know you're gonna die, go down in style.

I know what you mean... the Marines are stupider than the Zombies. If a threat is not within about 30 degrees of line-of sight, he will not sense it at all, even when it starts chewing on him.

He senses it. He says "ugh, medic"
The "throw grenade" action is an action not removed since the original halflife where they could indeed throw them. Someone has made it as a command, sorta like "move forward" or "open fire in that direction!" This post has been edited by Elite viking on April 27, 2005 03:29 pm |

Why not strap bombs to their chests so everytime a zombie comes withing a two foot radius of them they blow themselves up, it'd help alot better than they are now.
Okay, new suggestion. Why not have it where marines atleast have patrols. Example: Two marines walking together through the streets while watching for any activity. If seen, they retreat or shoot. It could possibly replace my former following suggestion, and it would make the gameplay more realistic. Atleast they will move and not be in the same spot 24/7. Maybe the grenade animation could be removed or replaced with another animation, for example the marine wipes is for head or something. Also the marines need new models+skins's. A sort of urban camo would be good with a bb m16 model that they could hold. THey could also drop it when they are killed.

you know just change the model (marine) becuse i did that onse to a guy with minigun. and hell that was cool. but . marines can carry other sorts of weapons than you do, [ *cough* mp5 ] so why not add a grenade for em?
couldent be that hard. when i think of it. take the big zombies from SVEN-COOP and replace your original zombies with em. THATS COOL. they walk a hell lot faster. kills not infects. and hit harder.... if some one could host me i could put it out on the forum. still som one need to remodel/reskin it becuse it has a headcrap on itself.. maybe reskin it to a wrestler/fat dude or someting. |

I dont see why a model would change its attack points and speed?
